Windsor Youth Theatre Presents Disney’s Winnie the Pooh Kids
Pee Wee Division showcases children in a charming musical with familiar characters
In its 28th year of operation, the Windsor Youth Theatre will present “Disney’s Winnie the Pooh Kids” on Saturday November 22, at 7:00 pm and Sunday November 23 at 3:00 pm. Fifty of Windsor’s youngest thespians will tell the story of Pooh Bear, Piglet, Tigger and the other Hundred Acre Wood inhabitants as they band together to save their friend Christopher Robin. The children will sing and dance their way through the story of Pooh, on his perennial search for honey. Along the way he meets up with his familiar pals and together they launch a rescue plan after discovering that Christopher Robin has been captured by the Backson!
The fifty cast members in the show are from the Pee Wee Division of the Windsor Youth Theatre and range in grade from Kindergarten through eighth grade. Directors Kelsey Fitzsimmons and Lauren Pouliot have been leading the group for the past five years and were former cast members themselves.
All shows will be held in the auditorium of LP Wilson Community Center, located at 599 Matianuck Avenue in Windsor, CT. Tickets are general admission and are sold at the door. Prices are $12 for adults, $10 for students/seniors and $5 for children under 5. Parking is free and concessions will be available. LP Wilson is an accessible facility.
The show’s music and lyrics are by Richard M. Sherman & Robert B. Sherman, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. The music was adapted and arranged by Will Van Dyke. The book was written by Cheryl Davis, the musical is based on the stories of A. A. Milne & the 2011 Disney animated feature film.
